The New York City-based singer/composer/percussionist Charlie Cajares is an attorney by trade in his native Cali, Colombia, where he's known as "El Abogado de la Salsa" (The Salsa Attorney), "El Abogado de la Salsa." A two-decade musical veteran and percussion university professor at the Universidad de Cali (as well as the Universidad Libre) in his native land, Cajares has played and recorded with some of Colombia's top salsa bands, including The Latin Brothers, Las Estrellas de Niche, and Orquesta La Fuga, among others. Cajares' band leading debut highlights this multi-talented professional at the top of his musical game, with a repertoire of mostly original scores in which Cajares plays all the percussion instruments and provides all the lead vocals. In summary, he delivers a very personal production, deeply immersed in the traditional roots of salsa, combining the new tendencies of the salsa idiom with Colombia's musical folklore. Standouts include the tracks Demente, Caso Familiar, Rompecabezas, and Cuando Quiero Llorar No Lloro.

Tickets at Bogie’s will be available for $20.00 and will help defray the expenses of producing the Festival.
